Bought three of these antennas for my work vehicles, one body mounted on the roof and the other two using a mag, SWR was difficult until I realised I wasn't going to to achieve better than just 1.6 - 2.00 depending what channel I'm using, urban I getting around 5 miles to a base station and 3 miles mobile to mobile, open country you could almost double these distances.
